Reindeer Farm

We started the day with a great breakfast at The Noisy Goose.  It's always good.

The Grizzley at the Noisy Goose.

Then we went to another family favorite:  The Reindeer Farm.  It's just southeast of Palmer but on the east side of the Matanuska River.

The Reindeer Farm on a beautiful Alaskan day.  I'm thinking July is the month to fly in Alaska, not August.

Big Moose with Pioneer Peak in the background.

Brad shows the girls how to feed the chickens.

Big turkey.

Zoey is fascinated by the turkey.

Zoey is not too sure about that baby donkey.

Zoey getting some clover to feed the bunnies.

Yay, Reindeer Farm!

Mimi plays tic-tac-toe with the girls.

Parker riding an animal.

A young Moose!  The last time we were here a year ago, their Moose named Lucy had just died the week before and the staff was sad.  But now they have a new moose.

One of the caretakers sprays the moose with water on this hot day (for Alaska).

The water energizes the young moose.

The new moose is eating his favorite food.

A shaggy Highland Cow.

One thing I like about the Reindeer Farm is that they have a lot of things for the kids to do.  And every time we come there are new things.  Like this ride.

A good look at Pioneer Peak.

Another new thing was this inflatable bounce bag  -- I don't really know what to call it.

This one made me nervous.  Our little girls could easily get propelled off this thing if the bigger girls jumped too hard and created a wave.

There goes Zoey!

They did have a staff member on watch at left.

Looking back at the kid activity area.

Cute baby Alpaca.

Well, you gotta have Reindeer at a Reindeer farm.

We've been here before when the reindeer antlers were shedding.  It was not a pretty sight with strips hanging off and blood showing.  But today they look very healthy.

Having fun a the Reindeer Farm.
